What does Calypte mean and how is it pronounced?
Calypte (ka-lip-tay) is the latin name of Carol's favorite hummingbird. Hummingbirds are so special because of their inquisitive nature, the gorgeous iridescent colors of their feathers, amazing aerial displays and buzzing of their wings. Hummingbirds are often unafraid to approach people and some enter into relationships with us. Hummingbirds are like living rainbows!

How should I take care of my Calypte Collection jewelry?
Only high-quality materials, including leather, metals and stones, are used in our designs. Exposing leather or metals to humidity, water, and extreme heat can cause tarnishing and change the shape of your jewelry. To extend the life of your jewelry, avoid wearing it in the shower, at the beach, at the pool and during exercising.
We recommend using a natural leather care product to protect against scuffing and to repel water. We love Obenauf's leather care because they are an all-natural product, made in the U.S.A.
Wrap bracelets should never be worn in or exposed to water. If the leather or stones on your wrap bracelet need cleaning, simply spot clean where needed with a damp cloth.
Sterling silver and silver plated pieces will naturally tarnish over time and the more they are exposed to air. Easily clean your jewelry with a sterling silver polishing cloth and store in a cool, dry place, in an air-tight plastic bag.
